    in my workplace we have a union most of the work force are unhappy with it due to its association to a political party and think there are only interested in numbers how would the workforce go about changing their union and if it did would the employer recognize a new union

    • Hi Alan,
      An employee can be a member of any union they wish, and can be represented at Disciplines and Grievance hearings by that union. The term ‘Recognised’ becomes more difficult and we would need to have the majority of the staff in the union to force the employer into full recognition and replace, or work with, the other union.
