Unemployment is at its highest level in 10 years and even worse at its highest level for 16 years for the under 24 year olds. That equates to 1 in 6 young people being unemployed and 1 in 5 households being on benefits. Agencies are talking about ‘the lost generation’ when describing employment prospects for the under 25 year olds.
