The Workers of England Union campaigns tirelessly on behalf of its membership, promoting social justice, democratic equality and a positive national identity.

1. Stop Racism

The Workers of England Union stands firmly against racism. Any member expressing racist views will be excluded from the union to maintain our commitment to inclusivity.

The St George’s Flag does not belong to extremists or racists—it belongs to England and its families. As such, we proudly continue to feature it in our logo, believing it fosters community integration and a *unified national identity*. Learn more on our Stop Racism page.

2. St George’s Day Bank Holiday

Just as Scotland and Wales celebrate their patron saints with national holidays, so too should England. By promoting St George’s Day as a community and family event, we aim to:

  • Reconnect people with a positive and unified society
  • Foster a strong cultural identity and sense of belonging
  • Promote stability and shared community values

Discover our full proposal on the St George’s Day Bank Holiday campaign page.

3. Abolition of Student Fees

The Workers of England Union supports the abolition of student fees for English students and is unique among trade unions in championing the skills university graduates bring to industry. Learn more.

4. English Parliament & Regionalisation

Since the establishment of the Scottish Parliament and Welsh Assembly in 1998, England has been divided into nine regions without equivalent devolved powers or public consultation. This disparity puts democracy at risk.

The Workers of England Union calls for a constitutional convention to develop a coherent, fair framework for the entire UK, ensuring democratic equality for the people of England. Read our full position on the English Parliament page.

5. Additional Campaigns

  • Equal pay
  • Employment rights
  • An end to discrimination and harassment at work
  • Reinvestment of profits into the English economy
  • Returning call centres to England
  • Priority use of local skills
  • Promotion and training of young people in skills needed for future economic development
