Are your characteristics protected under the Equality Act?

The Workers of England Union are proud to report that, in supporting a member who is alleged to have been sacked because he was an English Nationalist, we have already achieved recognition of English Nationalism as a conditionally Protected Characteristic under the Equality Act, but have recently had it confirmed that our Appeal against some part of the Judgment which restricted our member’s rights is now to go to the Employment Appeal Tribunal for a full hearing as an ‘A’ Listed case.

We look forward to getting a ruling that English Nationalism is unconditionally a Protected Characteristic under the Equality Act! (Mr S Thomas – v – Surrey & Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust & Others – Case No. 2304056/2018 – Appeal from Croydon Employment Tribunal – EA-2021-000488-AT).
