Membership Information for Part-Time Employees

| W.E.U Admin | Personal Development & Support
Dear Workers of England Union Member,
I am pleased to write to you about our many successes in representing our members. From handling grievances and disciplinary matters to supporting members in Employment Tribunals, our excellent representatives achieve results that exceed expectations.
Key Achievements
Over the past year, we have:
- Successfully defended our members’ philosophical beliefs
- Brought cases related to disability discrimination and religious belief
- Pursued innumerable unfair dismissal claims
- Won cases in the Employment Tribunals, the Employment Appeal Tribunal, and the Court of Appeal
Subscription Rate Adjustment
Protecting our members’ rights does not come cheap. At our Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) on October 6, and in light of the recent government budget announcement, we approved a modest increase in subscription rates. Effective January 1, 2025, the new rate for part-time employees will be £7.95 per month. If we had matched inflation, this would have risen to £8.97, but we have deliberately kept it below the inflation rate.
Even with this adjustment, our subscription remains below that of almost all other unions, while delivering a highly professional service. As a not-for-profit organization, we are entirely focused on supporting you in dealings with your employer.
Your revised direct debit will be taken on your usual monthly date. We hope you understand the need for this change and continue to support your union. We pledge to provide professional, independent representation in your workplace.
Yours sincerely,
Stephen Morris
General Secretary
